I feel so blessed to have my own dad who has been such a loving and involved dad to all four of us kids. He's laid back, fun, generous, hard working, super smart, and has almost always been able to solve all of my life's problems including but not limited to...math and science homework, car questions, killing of spiders, finding cool antiques, and fixing just about anything. The list could go on and on. He's taught me to love the outdoors and be thankful to God for His provision. My dad's a man of few words, but has a huge heart and loves his family so much. He listens to God's calling for his life and is a man of integrity. I'm so thankful for all the great memories over the last 30 (almost 31...eeeek!) years!
Dad, I know you're not much of a blog reader but I'm sure mom will show this to you...I think you're just awesome and I love you so much. Thanks for being my #1 fan for so many years and always with a joyful heart. I see Christ in you and you'll always be my favorite dad! (Because I'm your favorite daughter, right?! *smile.) Happy Father's Day! Love you!
And Tom....where do I start with him! How did I get so lucky to marry such a wonderful man. I love seeing him as a daddy and what an amazing, fun, loving, and patient one he is. He seeks after Christ with all his heart and soul and leads our family with wisdom and diligence. I'm so thankful we share the same dreams and goals and that we get to do life together. Our kiddos adore him and are so blessed to have him as their daddy!
In honor of Father's Day, I asked Gwendolyn some questions and wrote down her first response. I love her random, don't always make sense answers. She's only 26 months old!

Me: Is there anything else you want to say to daddy?
Gwendolyn: Yeah, daddy loves you.
Me: Daddy loves me?!
Gwendolyn: Yeah, daddy loves you so much. Your turn.
Yes, yes he does, Gwendolyn *smile. I was torn between buying Tom a card that was silly and goofy and had princesses and super heros on it or going for sentimental. Once I read this Hallmark card and teared up (fanning my face didn't work to keep them away), I knew it was perfect for this very time in our lives...
The world needs more daddies who nurture and care,
that families can count on to always be there...
that mamas can love on when living gets stressed...
that babies can cry on when mamas need rest.
That daughters can call on to share tears and laughter,
that sons can fall back on, respect, and take after...
The world needs more daddies with hearts good and true.
The world needs more daddies exactly like you.
So thankful the Lord ordained for us to be together.
Happy Father's Day!!
