I am 6 weeks old and having so much fun! Two weeks may be nothing to big people, but when you're little like me, 2 weeks can make a big difference! Let me share....
• I am smiling! I really, really am! Mommy says it makes her day.
• One night recently, I slept for 4 hours and 45 minutes my first stretch. And I've done several 3.5 and 4 hour stretches since then. In mommy's words, "I'm amazing!"
And just to show off a bit more, I even fall asleep on my own a lot of the time. If I'm fed and burped with a clean diaper yet still fussy, then more then likely I just want to be swaddled and put down. Sometimes I want to be cuddled though and will burrow my face riiiiight up in mommy's neck. She says God thought of everything b/c we fit together so perfectly when we snuggle.
• This may surprise you, but I've never been a big eater. I am very efficient and only nurse for maybe 10 minutes, if that, before I'm done. But just like the books say, I went/am going through a growth spurt and suddenly want to nurse on both sides.
• Between daycare friends and my cousin Nathan, I've been to five birthday parties now and I still have yet to be offered any cake. Rude!
• I don't typically take a pacifier, but I will suck on one if you help keep it in. Daddy uses this technique while mommy is away at photo shoots if necessary.
• If I'm fussy, patting my back or bottom will help calm and relax me. Or if I'm in my rock-n-play sleeper or car seat, I like to be rocked. While driving in the car recently, I was a bit upset and my big sissy said, "Rock him, rock him please." She is very observant!
• I'm definitely trying to find my voice and have started talking a bit. My coos must be cute, because it makes mommy get all teary-eyed.
• No, I didn't get a haircut. My hair has almost all completely fallen out on it's own except for some in the back. I think it's a good look for me, don't you?
• We go on lots of family walks. I can't wait until I'm old enough to swing and go down the slides like sissy. You can't stay inside when you have a random sunny day around here!
• Sometimes I like to be held facing mommy or daddy with my head on their chests, but other times I'll wiggle my little body to the side so that I'm being held cradled in their arms. Just depends on the day and my mood. If I'm awake, then I like to face out and see the world.
• Grandma recently told mommy that I had lost my newborn look, which mommy disagreed with until she was working on her "May in Pictures" post and couldn't believe the difference between the beginning to the end of the month. She just can't believe how I have changed so much before her very eyes. I tell mommy I'm growing as slowly as I can, but I'm not sure it's slow enough for her. Daddy on the other hand says he can't wait until I'm no longer a limp noodle. A limp what?!
The sun is shining and my heart is joyful. Have a great weekend everybody!
Love,
Conrad Cross
