Conrad - 16 Weeks

Another month has almost gone by - I'm days away from turning 4 months old everybody!

• My legs are getting stronger by the day and I finding standing to be quite fun.

• After many mornings waking up with wet drawers, my parents finally moved me up to size 3 diapers. I still wear size 2 during the day because apparently my daddy shops in bulk to save money. Size 2 works just fine for short periods of time and a (very) quick turn around on a dirty dipe dipe.

• I continue to be easy to entertain. I love to hold my green ball and chew on my giraffe Sophie. I grab on to other toys and blankets and put just about everything in my mouth. Mom's shoulder. Mom's hands. Mom's chin. And so on.

• I blow bubbles now! And you'd be wise to have a burp rag on hand if you hold me, because I have started drooling more and more.

• Every time mommy puts me on my play mat she's dashing for her phone thinking I'm going to roll over from my back to my tummy. And she has an agreement with Miss Kathy that if I do it at daycare, she doesn't want to know. I'm so so so close, so I don't blame her. Rolling over this much weight isn't as easy as it looks so I'm taking my sweet time.

• Let's be honest, tummy time is lame. I either fuss my way through it or just put my head down and suck my fingers/thumb.

• Singing is not lame though. I love singing. I love most songs, but two of my favorites are "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "If Your Name is Conrad, Pop Right Up."  Like a lot of things in life, singing will make me smile big.

• Some people like to put their feet up and read a book. Others like to sit on a beach or have a cup of coffee. To relax, I just like to have my back or bum patted.

• Vacation with mommy's family was awesome! I constantly had someone to hold and talk to me, and there was always so much to look at. I absolutely love being outside and getting fresh air. It was really fun to watch all the bigger kids build sand castles, swim, swing, play ball, and do crafts. I enjoyed some deep conversation with my Grandpa every day, and loved getting to know all of my cousins. I took great naps every day and slept like I do at home, which isn't horrible but not super amazing. (Yet.) I am looking forward to the day I can keep up with everybody and do fun things like dig for bugs, eat mini donuts, fish, play games, and play with trains. We didn't even stop on our way home (3.5 hrs) and I only cried for the last 8 minutes. What a trip!

• Well, the day has come....I have officially moved to my own room. I did one night swaddled in my crib but when mommy was up five times with me, she told daddy that she'd move my rock-n-play to my room as a compromise. So I'm in my own room, but still sleeping in my rock-n-play. One step at a time.

• Mommy's friend sleep trained her daughter at four months. I'm almost four months. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Although, I put myself to sleep after fussing for just a short time twice last night, so maybe it won't be as bad as I think.

Until next time when I'm 18 weeks old...
Conrad
