We're already 18 weeks along with baby #2! And I've had a bump since about week 10 to prove it *smile. As requested, here are a few belly pics!
18 Week Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 18 weeks on 11/23
Size of baby: 5.5", length of a bell pepper
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not really sure, but maybe 3 or 4ish lbs? My next appointment with a mid-wife is on December 11th.
Maternity Clothes: Yes, I finally broke out the maternity pants last week. I've been living in my comfy black yoga pants though, which has definitely bought me time. It's nice to be able to do that this time around! I did have to give in for Thanksgiving and church though. I didn't think my stretchy pants would be appropriate at either event *smile.
Gender: We don't know! I have moments where I think it's a girl and then I see blue. No baby dreams yet!
Movement: Yes! I just love it! I felt the baby for the first time at 16.5 weeks and Tom felt the baby last week, which was 3 weeks earlier than with Gwendolyn. It never ceases to amaze me!
Sleep: Pretty good.
What I miss: Being able to take Advil for back pain and headaches. Tylenol is so weak.
Cravings: It's hilarious how different this pregnancy is. I never craved anything with Gwendolyn and my food aversions had stopped by the end of the 1st tri. My most recent cravings have been for dill pickle chips, and Fruity Pebbles and Fruit Loops. I know, I know, I know....
Symptoms: Will probably have to break out my old (bigger) bras soon (woohoo! I'm getting the curves back!), headaches, legiment aches, still bothered by certain smells, and still pretty picky about what sounds good to eat.
Best moment this past week: Feeling the baby move and seeing family for Thanksgiving!

And just to catch up a bit....(I recorded this earlier)
15 Week Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 15 weeks on 11/2
Size of baby: About 4 inches from head to toe, the size of an apple.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.5 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Not yet! I am lucky to be able to basically live in comfy clothes this time around!
Gender: After a lot of going back and forth and discussion, we are not finding out. It's tempting though!
Movement: Not yet.
Sleep: If Gwendolyn doesn't wake me up, then I usually have to get up once to go to the bathroom.
What I miss: Not feeling so restricted on what "sounds good" to eat.
Cravings: Mac-n-cheese and Aldi's fruit snacks.
Symptoms: Sore up top, if you know what I mean, and certain smells make me feel queasy. Did finally get my first headache that stuck around for five days too. That was not fun.
Best moment this past week: Hearing the heartbeat at our appointment on November 2nd! She said it was 155. Gwendolyn's eyes lit up and she suddenly paid attention to what was going on when our midwife, Bridget, found the heartbeat, turned to her and said, "that's your baby!" Was so cute. (Remember Bridget?!)
12 Weeks:
In Tom's words on October 11th, 2012:
"Twelve weeks and you're frickin' huge!"
10 Weeks:
I have always heard people say "you show so much faster with your second pregnancy!" so I was anticipating that, but I think it's hilarious that we all blame it on the "second pregnancy" when really it's probably just b/c naturally our tummies weren't nearly as toned and flat as they were the first time around (if this doesn't apply to you then you're my hero!)
I thought we took a 16 week pic, but I can't seem to find it so perhaps I didn't. We should be all caught up now and you get to look forward to my bi-weekly pregnancy updates again!

umm...love it. were you a little nervy you might be having TWINS when you were showing so much so early??? ;)
ReplyDeleteSuper adorable. I can't believe Gwen is going to have her own real live doll to play with! My predictions at a later day.
