Conrad - 10 Weeks

Hey everybody! Hopefully you enjoyed seeing my newborn pictures posted last weekend. It's pretty amazing what a difference two months and a few days makes, isn't it?! Thankfully I've stayed pretty cute. (As if that would ever change, right?)

• Mommy had to work, so I went to daycare for the first time on July 2nd and again on July 3rd so mommy and daddy could celebrate daddy's 30th birthday at Valley Fair. I wasn't so sure about the bottle so only had 4 oz the first day and 3 oz the next. Despite not eating that much or really sleeping that well, Kathy said I was still calm and content most of the day. Apparently now taking a bottle is something I "need to work on" so I'm already being given chores. Sheesh.

• If you catch me fed and rested, I may just tell you a quick story. Mommy says I have a cute voice and loves it when I coo, but she's always asking me to repeat things I tell her. She needs to work on listening the first time around.

• I slept 7 hours TWO nights in a row! Daycare wears.me.out.
July 2nd: 11:58 am to 6:10 am
July 3rd: 9:40 pm to 4:50 am

Most nights I'm still doing about 4 to 4.5 hours the first stretch and then another 2 hours after that. Sometimes if mommy can stay awake, she'll get up, re-swaddle me, and put me back in my rock n play, but a lot of the time I get to snuggle with her the rest of the night. Great for me! Not so comfy for her especially since I'm getting longer and heavier.

• We took our first family mini-vacation over the 4th of July. I may have slept through most everything, but I still had a great time. Mommy says I'm actually at a great age to travel with because snoozing is one of my most favorite things to do! We stayed at a Holiday Inn with a water park about an hour away. I can't wait until I can swim next year! (I could have swum this year, but like I said...I slept through everything!)

• Daddy thinks I'm going to be a thumb sucker. I love sucking on my hands and getting as much of my fist into my mouth as possible. I've also taken a liking to my blankie and like to have it to grab on to especially when I'm getting my diaper changed or when in my car seat. It seems to calm me down and prevents me from flailing my arms.

• I'm not so sure about this play mat thing. They keep putting me on the darn thing, but I don't really see what the big deal is so I just start to fuss and they pick me back up.

• I'm still wearing some of my 0-3 month clothes, but mommy put a 3-6 month one on me and it fit just about perfectly. She said it's like I grew big enough overnight, but I think that's silly because all I do at night is eat and sleep.

• Only a few more weeks to call me a "newborn" and then I am old enough to be a "BABY"!

• I don't typically like to post things that happen outside of the standard two weeks, but since I had my 2 month check-up this morning, I figure I'll just share my stats with you now. My appt went well, but shots are no fun and I screamed and my face turned bright red. I calmed down pretty quickly, but I think I'll pretend to be sick for my 4 month check up so I don't have to go. That should work, right?

My pediatrician said I look more like a 4 month old, have great head control, and am very strong. The nurse commented on my strength as well. What can I say...I take really good care of myself, eat only the most nutritious food, and get plenty of sleep. Mommy was looking back over my sissy's 10 week post from two years ago, and I weigh basically FOUR more pounds than she did at this age. I amaze even myself!

Here are my stats as of 7/9/13:
Height: 24.5"; 95%
Weight: 15 lbs, 5 oz; 98%
Head: 16 3/4"; 98%

Life is pretty fun, and I hope you think so too! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy summer!

Love,
Conrad
