We had a great time in Council Bluffs for Christmas! We were there Tuesday late afternoon (Christmas day) through Saturday morning. Gwendolyn just loves being with her cousins and was content to color and play and watch movies all day. She had a blast and was so easy this year. By the end of our time there, she was sleeping great and until 8:00 almost every morning so Tom and I left feeling rested, which is definitely not usually the case when you're not at home in your own bed, especially with a youngin' I feel like? His parents are gracious hosts and there was food and goodies galore. Lots of games and laughs and the boys even got in a showing of Lord of the Rings! Tom's life is complete. Ha.
Cousins!
Sitting in her new Elmo chair with her new Big Bird doll flipping through her new Sesame Street coloring book while wearing her new Elmo pj pants on her arm. Life is good.
Grant and Brooke got a new Ipad!!
Her big present was her new grocery cart, which she pushed back and forth and back and forth. Over and over again.
Decorating cookies is a fun Barntsen fam tradition. The kids always have some great designs. Very unique with lots of sprinkles detail.
I can not it for clean-up.
Luke's signature face.
SLEDDING TIME!!
She loved it. Tom was a great daddy and went up and down with her.
"Again?"
Apparently it's tiring walking up a hill in snow with a lot of clothes on while carrying a 25 lb toddler...
That's one way to lighten your load...
She loves her dada.
Feeding the baby....
Watching movies...
Coloring at this table was very popular...
This pic cracks me up...
We were also able to go see Becca and the boys for a few hours!
Weston and Wyatt eventually went to daycare so Gwendolyn enjoyed playing with their toys without getting trampled.
Phew...what a Christmas celebration that was! We're both blessed with awesome families and we're so thankful to be able to spend time with them. The fun didn't stop there....after our 6 hour trip home (with one stop), we unpacked, did laundry, celebrated New Years, Tom went back to work for a few days, and then repacked and headed down to Okoboji, IA to spend the weekend with my family!
