Tom and I made our first road trip home to Charles City last weekend to go to Libby's baby shower. We only had to stop twice on the way there and then made it the entire way home (2.5 hours) without stopping, although we probably should have since Gwen woke up and was hungry the last 20ish minutes *sad face. Next time we'll stop, but I was so tired and we were sooooo close.
We were only home for five hours, but it was great to see my parents, the girls, and baby Drew and help Libby celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Nelson (also known as "Shim") who is due May 8th. It was a lovely shower with lots of yummy desserts! Our attendance was up in the air (what isn't at this point in our lives? Ha.) so I think people were a bit surprised to see us walk in the door. Gwen was an angel and everyone got to hold and enjoy her. It's not every day you get to show off your two and a half week old daughter to some of your closest friends! I am so happy it worked for us to attend.

And I'm soooooo happy for Libby and Rustin and all they have to look forward to these next few weeks (I loved the anticipation!) Not to mention the JOY that comes with bringing a new baby home. Oh my...these have been the best and most difficult days of my life, but I've loved them all!
Libby thinks she's having a girl b/c she has carried the baby very similar to the way I carried Gwen. I am uncertain and have told myself to stop guessing what people are having b/c I've been wrong so many times recently (including with my own child.)
But I'm going to guess boy anyway.
*smile.

Woohoo my cakepops made the pic collage!!!:)
