I love my VitaMix. I'll never forget the moment I opened it up at our wedding shower and cried because I was so shocked and excited. (I may just have the best, most loving and giving siblings in the world.) One of my bf's, Celeste, got me hooked on them at the Iowa State Fair and now, wouldn't ya know, I have one in my kitchen. We do all sorts of things with it, but it's most commonly used for smoothies as of late. I can whip up a smoothie with 2-3 servings of fruit and 2-3 servings of veggies in it and have half for dinner and half for breakfast the next morning. And if you throw in my secret ingredient, you wouldn't even know it was so good for you!
Let's take a closer look....starting from the bottom we have: 1/3 cup dry oats, 2T ground flax, non-fat organic yogurt, handful of sugar snap peas, 8 strawberries, 1 large banana, 1T organic peanut butter, drizzle of honey and a generous portion of organic spinach.
Oh, and the secret ingredient - organic chocolate syrup. Can't forget that.
Pour in a half cup to cup of milk, mix, and enjoy. Your body will thank you!

p.s. Another favorite ingredient is chocolate protein powder. YUM!

ReplyDeleteYessss!! The Vita-Mix. I love it too. Remember how Becca and I were sneaking around at the fair buying it so you wouldn't know??!! Your smoothie looks great, I make very similar ones and I too like to throw in whatever fresh fruits and veggies I have on hand, it's such an easy way to get a lot of servings of the good stuff! Good idea on the chocolate syrup! I'll have to try that!!
