Long sigh...
My heart is heavy as I write this. I had suspected and heard but just finally had the time to confirm it online, that Jon Lacina's body was indeed found in an empty boiler room on Iowa State's campus. I had prayed and hoped that somehow he would turn up unharmed despite having been missing since January. I don't know Jon, but I think about his parents and brother and I am so sad for them. I was also asked to pray for a friend of a friend whose sister, Katie, died in a car/train accident this past weekend.
Why, why, why.........
It's too much, God.
Some things in life just don't make sense. Accidents happen. Lives are cut short. Families are left feeling completely empty and paralyzed with pain. I believe that God cries with us and hates to see his children hurting. No matter the size of loss, He wants to carry us through it. My prayer for those two families who probably feel like they can't possibly go on, is that they experience firsthand his mighty power and strength. Because nothing is too much for Him.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Yes, nothing is too much for Him...powerful words! I am sorry to hear about those deaths. Death stings. But the battle has already been won...praise the Lord!
